Go to RSForms Pro >> Manage Forms >> And click on the form to edit it.

Make sure you are in Form Fields and click on textbox

01 add a textbox formfields

The name must have no spaces, no strange characters (just like an image filename), and it's best to avoid capitals.

02 edit textbox on rsforms

If you want to make sure it is filled out, click on the "Validations" tab and make sure it is set to req'd and enter a message that the submitter sees if they do not fill in field.

You only need a Validation Rule if you want to make sure they enter something specific, in this case you don't.

The message needs to be something like "Please enter any dietary requirements".

And save

03 add validation

Your textbox will now be at the bottom of the list of fields, click on the Grid layout button to put it in the correct place.

04 go to gridlayout

Scroll to the bottom and just drag n drop, to where you want it.

05 move fieldset

Now you need to add the field placeholder to the emails, so that the information can be shown on the emails.

  1. Click on user emails
  2. Click on the toggle button to see the list of available placeholders, your new one will again be at the bottom
  3. Click to open the email to edit it

06 toggle quick add

A new window will open with the contents of the email, it can be edited like a standard article.

This screenshot shows JCE, you may have a different WYSIWYG.

If you have a table, right-click where you want in the table to add another row, or add a new paragraph etc.

07 insert row

Now you can go back to the main window, scroll to your new field, highlight its placeholder caption and you can drag it to wherever you like in the popup window. You may need to drag it to the menu bar first to focus the popup window again.

08 highlight

09 drag

Repeat for the value.

Now when the form is sent the placeholder text {special_dietery_reqs:caption} & {special_dietery_reqs:value} will be replaced (in this case) by "Special Dietary Requirements" and whatever the submitter enters.

And save.

If your form is the same to the submitter and admins you can just copy & paste this whole form into the admin one.

In the popup, click on WYSIWYG / code to see the code, or use the editor / code tabs and use ctrl+A or cmd+A to select all or right-click >> select all.

Then ctrl+V or cmd+V to paste.
